Welcome to our first State Flower quilt contest and first on-line quilt show. The winners have been chosen and are ready to be viewed. The first,
second, and third place winners were picked by judges at Quilts & Other
Comforts. Our Viewer's Choice award was voted on over the Internet by
quilters all over the world.
The winners are...
First Place went to Kay Netscher of Florida for her beautiful multi-technique Florida inspired quilt.
Second place went to Margit Morawietz of Arizona for a stunning and colorful star burst quilt.
Third place and the Internet Viewers' Choice Award went to Debbie Nakamura of Hawaii
for a lovely sun-drenched design.
The first place winner won a $1,000 gift certificate to the Quilts & Other
Comforts catalog. The second place winner won a $500 gift certificate and the
third place winner won a $200 gift certificate. The Viewer's Choice winner
won a complete collection of Jinny Beyer Palette Fabrics.
In addition to the winning quilts we are keeping all of entries on-line for
you to view and be inspired by.
I wish to personally thank all of our wonderful entrants. We realize how
much work and creativity went into each of your quilts. They are all
'winners' and we do so appreciate your participation.
Our next grouping of state flower fabrics and details of our next contest
will be available in January. You'll be able to select from the Magnolia,
Wild Prairie Rose, Bluebonnet, Dogwood, Columbine, and Carnation. We will
give our on-line viewers a special preview of the designs in December. Just
sign up for our on-line mail and we will let you know when you can sneak a
peek.
